Tip of the day (Choosing the correct AF mode on your camera)

Your camera has different AF modes, if Nikon AF-S and AF-C, and if Canon One shot, AI focus and AI servo. So which one do you use and when?
The Nikon AF-S is equivalent to Canon’s One Shot and Nikons AF-C is equivalent to Canon’s Ai Servo.

When a subject is static (i.e. not moving) one would sets the camera on AF-S or One shot. This locks focus and prevents the camera lens from looking for movement and trying to refocus. This method is the correct method as long as the subject does not move.
If photographing a moving object set your camera to AF-C or Ai Servo, so the camera’s AF can track movement. Applying these two simple principles will ensure you have a better shot every time.
